Remark
  • Charity Cause: TAIPEI 101 calls for support through concrete actions to help the development of children and youths, encouraging them to develop skills and pursue their dreams. This event will include the following charity actions:
    1. TAIPEI 101 will donate 15% of the registration fees from the [Elite], [Solo Challenger], and [Team Challenger] groups (including a 5% donation from payments made with CTBC Bank credit cards).
    2. [Charity League] teams respond to TAIPEI 101’s call, with each participating team donating NT$400,000 to charity.
  • Individuals or teams invited by TAIPEI 101, including [Elite], [Solo Challenger], [Charity League], and [Team Challenger] shall be given priority in the starting order.
  • TAIPEI 101 reserves the right to adjust the starting order and number of participants or teams per group as may be needed.
  • The recommended medical check-up time and estimated starting time will be announced on the event’s official website by April 28, 2025.
  • Participants are required to arrive at the venue by the time specified on the event website for preparation. Failure to do so, particularly if they arrive after all other participants in the same group have started and TAIPEI 101 begins clearing the venue, will result in their disqualification from the event, and their participation will be considered forfeited. For example, if participants in the [Solo Challenger] arrive at the assembly area after the other participants in their group have already started and TAIPEI 101 begins clearing the area, they will not be permitted to participate.
  • Successful registrants for the [Solo Challenger] who wish to join the [Elite] group must meet the following qualifications: Provide supporting documents of completion in at least one official race held between 2023 and 2025, and achieve the required records listed below. This must be approved by TAIPEI 101 to qualify for joining the [Elite] group; otherwise, they will remain in the originally registered [Solo Challenger] group.

  • When registering online, if you are eligible for a discount or make a payment using a CTBC Bank credit card, please ensure that the registration fee shown by the system is correct. After completing the registration, no changes can be made, and no requests for refunds or adjustments can be processed.

Qualification

    Age Restriction:

  • Participants must be between the ages of 15 and 70, i.e., born between May 4, 1955, and May 3, 2010, to be eligible for the race.
  • Participants aged 15 to 17, i.e., born between May 4, 2007, and May 3, 2010, must submit an "Authorization and Declaration Form" signed by both themselves and the legal guardian by April 7, 2025, after completing registration and payment. The form must be mailed to P.O. Box 47-110, Taipei 103, Taiwan, with the subject "ATTN: 2025 TAIPEI 101 RUN UP," or emailed to service@sportsnet.org.tw. Forms with false or incomplete information, or those not submitted by the deadline, will be considered incomplete registrations, and the participants will be withdrawn from the competition.
Elite Participants are invited by TAIPEI 101, or have completed online registration for the [Solo Challenger] and, by April 7, 2025, submitted supporting documents of completion in at least one official race held between 2023 and 2025, and achieve the required records listed in Remark 6, by registered mail to P.O. Box 47-110, Taipei 103, "2025 TAIPEI 101 RUN UP Registration Team," or by email to service@sportsnet.org.tw with the subject "2025 TAIPEI 101 RUN UP Elite Group Results - (Participant's Name)."
Solo Challenger Those who meet the above age requirements are eligible to participate.

  • Each participant is allowed to register for only one group and must meet the health requirements outlined in the competition rules (see Rule 1). Double registrations are strictly prohibited. Violators will have their registration cancelled, will not receive a refund, and will forfeit their right to claim a participant package. No plus ones are allowed - only registered participants are permitted to enter the race.
  • Participants must avoid using any substances or methods listed in the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) "2025 Prohibited List" that are banned both inside and outside of race. Participants are fully responsible for any banned substances detected in their bodies, whether intentional or accidental. Any violations will result in disqualification from the event and the cancellation of results.
  • If TAIPEI 101 disqualifies a registrant or cancels their results, voidance will apply to individual scores for the participant in [Elite] and [Solo Challenger] groups and team scores for the teams in [Charity League] and [Team Challenger] groups. Disqualified participants will be removed from the rankings and may be subject to legal action. Registration fees for disqualified individuals or teams will not be refunded.

Refund Policy

If you have completed the registration and payment but need to cancel your registration, please follow the refund procedures outlined below:

  • Please self-evaluate your health and physical condition before registering for the race. Once registration is complete, no substitutions or transfers are allowed. Partial refunds are not available for team registrations.
  • To request a refund, please fill out the Refund Request Form. Phase 3 applicants must Email CTRRA with supporting documents and make a call to 02-2585-5659 for confirmation. Once received, CTRRA will review and process the application. Please note that late applications will not be accepted, and no refund will be issued after the deadline.
  • Refunds will be issued through the original payment method. For credit card payments, refunds will be issued to the same credit card. For convenience store payments, refunds will be issued to your bank account, with a NT$30 transaction fee deducted.
  • If you have already received your race packet, it must be returned in new, complete, and unopened condition for a refund to be processed. For those who chose delivery for the packet, if the package has already been shipped, the delivery fee will not be refunded, and you will be responsible for the return shipping costs.
If the organizer announces event cancellation or reschedules the event date: Refund Percentage Remark

Race Packet Collection

    Participants who have successfully registered should collect their race materials according to the rules below.

    • Period: May 2, 2025 (Friday) from 10 AM to 8 PM. No exceptions will be made for late arrivals.

    • Registration Receipt: TAIPEI 101 will send the registration receipt by email by April 25, 2025. If you have not received the electronic receipt, please check your registration number on CTRRA website using your registered ID number.
    • Participants must present both their registration receipt and a government-issued ID during the collection period to pick up the race packets.
    • If you are unable to collect the materials in person, you may authorize someone else to pick up on your behalf by present the participant's ID (original or copy, accepting only ID card, health insurance card, driver's license, or passport) for verification (a digital copy shown on a mobile phone is also acceptable). The organizer is not responsible for impersonated representative if presented with valid participant ID verification. Additionally, the representative must sign and provide their contact number.

    • Please note that the delivery service is available only within Taiwan region, and a postal fee will be charged in addition to the registration fee. If you do not have a delivery address within Taiwan, please pick up your race packet on the day of the event. For detailed instructions, please refer to the "Collection on Event Day" section.

    • Race packets will start shipping from April 21, 2025, to the address provided during registration. Please ensure that your mailing address is correct to avoid any issues with delivery. If you have not received your race packet by April 29, 2025, please contact CTRRA at 02-2585-5659 during office hours (08:30-12:00; 13:30-17:30).
    • If the event organizer fails to deliver the materials correctly, a re-shipment will be made at no additional delivery charge; however, this will be provided only once.
    • If the packet cannot be delivered due to an incorrect address or the recipient being unavailable to sign for the delivery, the package will not be re-sent. However, the participant may pick up the race packet on site at the event with an additional charge, or at the CTRRA office (Address: Room 206, 2F, No.55 Changji St., Datong Dist., Taipei City, Lanzhou Market 2nd Floor, entrance via Dalong Street side door) excluding finisher’s souvenir during working hours the week following the race (May 5 – 9, 2025), Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. After this period, the packet will be discarded.
    Collection on Event Day (Fees are applicable)
    • To accommodate overseas participants and those who selected in-person pickup before race day but were unable to collect their packets on time, race packet pickup will also be available on race day for an additional charge. Please visit the “Race Packet Pick Up” area for collection. An extra fee will be charged based on the postal fee outlined above.
    • Please have your receipt number and a valid photo ID ready. Pickup period from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM. To avoid disrupting the race, no pickups will be allowed after the designated time.
    • Registrants who fail to pick up their race packet or are without a bib will be withdrawn from the race. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any runner without a bib from entering the course.
    Collection After Race Participants who do not collect their race materials during the specified pickup period must pick them up at CTRRA office (Address: Room 206, 2F, No.55, Changji St., Datong District, TAIPEI City, Lanzhou Market 2nd Floor, entrance via Dalong Street side door) excluding finisher’s souvenirs between May 5 and May 9, 2025 (08:30-12:00, 13:30-17:30). Race packets not collected by the deadline will be considered forfeited.

Competition Rules(Please read carefully)

  • Participants must understand the physical and mental impact of the race, the risks involved, and the physical demands required. By voluntarily entering the event, participants accept the risks and take responsibility for ensuring their fitness condition. They must be in good health condition and capable of completing the competition without requiring medical assistance. Participants with chronic conditions, including but not limited to hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, asthma, or those who have experienced unexplained chest discomfort (such as chest pain or tightness), are not advised to participate. TAIPEI 101 will conduct a health check on race day. Participants should arrive at the recommended check-up time announced by the organizers. After being cleared by a doctor, they will receive a "Qualifier" pass. Participants will start in order of their bib numbers. Only those with the "Qualifier" pass will be allowed to enter the check-in area at the starting point.
  • Participants who do not pass the initial health check will undergo a re-examination. If they still fail meet the required standards, the organizers will revoke their eligibility to the race based on the doctor's advice for safety reason. The registration fee will not be refunded, and no replacements will be made. (Please carefully consider whether to participate before making your decision.)
  • Please wear suitable shoes and attire for the race, and refer to the announcement on the website for your designated time slot.
  • The starting time may be adjusted based on on-site situations. Please follow the instructions of the staff and line up according to your bib number. For the "Solo Challenger," the starting order will be based on the completion time of registration and payment. However, TAIPEI 101 reserves the right to modify the starting order of participants.
  • Timing Chip:
    The 2025 TAIPEI 101 RUN UP uses a chip timing system to record finish times, with the chip times serving as the official record for event results. The timing chip will be distributed with the race packet and is for one-time use only; it cannot be used for other events. Please refer to the event manual on the official website for instructions on how to fasten your chip. If you need assistance, staff and volunteers at the venue will be available to help. Results will be based solely on the official times published by the organizer. Participants are responsible for any issues arising from improper chip usage, incorrect placement, or failure to wear the chip, which will result in no time or results being recorded.
  • Participants who violate any of the following regulations will be disqualified from the race without a refund:
    1. For safety reasons, inappropriate attire, such as slippers and flip-flops, and the removal of clothing or nudity during the race are strictly prohibited.
    2. Failing to properly pin your bib to the front of your race vest.
    3. Disregarding the referee's judgment or staff guidance, violating sportsmanship, making loud noises at the venue, or engaging in activities like live broadcasting, video calls, selfies, or taking photos or videos of yourself or other participants that may disturb the competition.
    4. Accepting food or drinks from unauthorized sources (you may only receive refreshments provided by the organizers).
    5. Carrying prohibited items. For safety reasons, personal belongings such as backpacks, water bottles, hats, towels, and cameras—anything that could fall off or pose a risk to other runners—are not allowed on the racecourse.
    6. Refusing to pass through the security check, in which case participants must submit to a search by staff.
    7. Participants, whether intentionally or unintentionally, using any prohibited substances or methods listed in the 2025 Prohibited List published by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which are banned for athletes both during and outside the race.《2025 Prohibited List》 Impersonation, violation of event rules, or any fraudulent behavior.
  • Violators of any of the following regulations will have their recorded times cancelled without a refund:
    1. Receiving assistance or support from another person during the race, or using an elevator and/or escalator.
    2. If you need a quick rest, please notify the staff stationed on each floor. Resting, blocking the stairway, or interfering with the race is strictly prohibited.
    3. Wearing a bib that does not match the registered Group.
    4. Hiring a substitute or non-registered runner to participate on your behalf. Once verified, both the runner and the substitute will be disqualified from the race and banned from participating for one year.
  • Runners who wish to take pictures or videos during the race are allowed to bring the following items, but must follow these rules. Violators will have their results canceled and will not receive a refund:
    1. GoPro: For safety, the GoPro must be securely mounted to your chest to prevent from falling during the race.
    2. Cell phone: For safety, your phone must be securely mounted to your chest or arms using an armband, or with lanyard tie with your hand (crossbody lanyard is not allowed).
    3. Backpack: Due to limited space on the stairways, backpacks and crossbody bags are not allowed. Belt bags must be securely worn.
  • Disputes:
    1. Competition disputes: Participants may not question the referees during the race. If there is any ambiguity in the rules, the judge's decision is final and no appeal may be made.
    2. Dispute procedure: Any issues regarding the race must be raised within 10 minutes of the results being posted, along with a security deposit of NT$3,000 submitted to TAIPEI 101. A receipt will be issued by the event competition team. All disputes will be resolved by the review committee’s decision. If the dispute is deemed unjustified, the deposit will be forfeited and used as part of the TAIPEI 101 event fund.

Bag Storage: TAIPEI 101 Water Dance Plaza

  • TAIPEI 101 will provide free bag storage for participants. On event day, bring your own bag and check in your belongings by showing your race bib. After the staff stamps it, your items will be stored securely. To pick up your items, simply show your race bib, and once the staff stamps it, you can retrieve your belongings. The storage area will open 30 minutes before the event starts. Please ensure all non-essential items are in your bag to avoid delays and ensure a smooth start.
  • Please keep valuable items, electronics, fragile items, perishable goods, hazardous materials, items that exceed the storage space, or any other items that TAIPEI 101 deems unsuitable for storage. TAIPEI 101 is not responsible for any damage, loss, or delayed retrieval of items.

Finisher Souvenirs and Awards

  • Finisher Souvenirs:
    1. All finishers will receive souvenirs. Participants who fail to receive the "Qualifier" pass after the health check or who are unable to finish the race will still be able to receive the souvenirs. However, those who did not join the race from the start will not be given finisher's souvenirs.
    2. After crossing the finish line, participants can collect their finisher's souvenirs at the designated area by showing their bib number. Each participant is allowed to receive one bag of souvenirs.
    3. Please collect your finisher's souvenirs before 16:00 on the day of the event (time may vary depending on when the event ends). After this time, the gift will be considered forfeited and no reissuance will be allowed.
  • Completion Certificate
    Completion certificates will be available for download on the official website starting from May 5, 2025.
  • Prize Taxation: In accordance with the Income Tax Act and the applicable withholding tax rate standards, prize winners are required to submit a copy of a valid identification document for tax reporting purposes. For individuals residing in the Republic of China (Taiwan) or businesses with a fixed place of operation, if the total value of prize money or prizes received from the company’s event exceeds NT$1,000 in a given year, the company will withhold taxes based on the applicable tax rates and report the prize amount or prize value as part of the winner's annual income. A withholding or exemption statement will then be issued to the winner. If the prize money or prize value for a single prize exceeds NT$20,010, the winner must first pay 10% of the total amount before being eligible to claim the prize. For individuals who do not reside in the Republic of China (Taiwan) or businesses without a fixed place of operation, regardless of the prize amount or value, they must first pay 20% of the total amount before being eligible to claim the prize.

Breaking Record
To encourage top athletes to set new records, a special bonus will be awarded to the top runner who breaks the TAIPEI 101 RUN UP record from men and women groups respectively.

Important Notice(Please Read This Notice Carefully)

  • Please note that this is a high-intensity competition. Participants should assess their physical condition and capabilities before registering. Once registered, be sure to prepare with training before the race day.
  • Get enough rest the night before the race to ensure you're in optimal physical condition. To avoid the risk of low blood sugar, do not race on an empty stomach—have a light meal about two hours before the race.
  • In addition to the water stations on the 1st and 91st floors, there will be water stations on several floors in between.
  • Participants should prioritize their physical condition and safety; do not push yourself if you feel unwell. If needed, stop immediately and seek assistance from the nearest staffs. Judges and doctors of the race retain the authority to withdraw participants from the race considering participants’ physical condition. The registration fee will not be refunded, and participants agree to conform to the decision.
  • In the event of any accidents during the race, participants and their families agree to assume full responsibility for the risks associated with the event. Participants will be solely responsible for any incidents arising from personal health issues or intentional actions. Furthermore, participants agree to waive any claims for compensation, consolation money, or damages related to injury, death, or any other form of loss caused by parties other than the organizer or co-organizers.
  • TAIPEI 101 utilizes chip timing for the event. Participants are advised to carefully review the chip usage instructions in the event manual. TAIPEI 101 will not be held liable for any failure to record results due to improper use of the chip by the participant.
  • Please keep the race bib, commemorative T-shirt, and timing chip from your race packet in good condition and safe. Damaged or lost items will not be replaced. Runners without a bib will not be allowed to participate.
  • The videos and photos captured by official filming crew of the event are copyrighted by TAIPEI 101. TAIPEI 101 has the right to record, film, and photograph the event, and to globally and permanently reproduce, broadcast, screen, transmit, modify, distribute, publicly display, publish, and make these works available. Participants agree, without compensation, to allow the organizer or authorized third parties (such as event collaborators) to use their name, likeness, voice, bib number, or results for business and promotional purposes, including event-related activities, without needing additional permission.
  • The organizer has granted authorization for commercial activities related to the event to the co-organizers or sponsors. Without the organizer's permission, no one is allowed to use the event for commercial purposes (including but not limited to filming and selling images of participants or selling related merchandise).
  • Anyone not wearing the pass or uniform issued by the organizer is prohibited from filming videos or taking photos of participants, or engaging in any commercial activities during the event.
  • To avoid disrupting the event, participants are not allowed to conduct live broadcasts, make video calls, take selfies, or engage in any other form of photography or recording of themselves or other participants in the race area (including but not limited to the starting point, race track, etc.) without prior written consent from TAIPEI 101. Any violation of this rule may result in disqualification from the competition, at the discretion of the on-site staff.
  • In the event that the competition cannot proceed due to force majeure, the organizer reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event based on considerations for participant safety. Participants must accept this decision without objection. For further details, please refer to the "Announcement on Refunds or Rescheduling." Any matters not addressed in the event information may be amended and published by the organizer. The event information shall be interpreted according to the organizer's discretion, and the organizer retains the right to modify and interpret the rules.

Public Liability Insurance Notice:

At the event site, only emergency medical services are available. The insurance does not cover any medical conditions or illnesses arising from pre-existing health issues of the participants. The public liability insurance only covers injuries caused by accidents. Participants are encouraged to purchase additional insurance as needed. TAIPEI 101 provides public liability insurance for participants in accordance with the "Public Liability Insurance Guidelines for Large-Scale Events in Taipei City" and the insurance coverage for "Category 1 Sports Activities." The coverage is as follows (any items not specified are governed by the common terms and conditions and addendums of the public liability insurance policy):

  • Personal Injury or Death per Participant: NT$3,000,000.
  • Personal Injury or Death per Accident: NT$15,000,000.
  • Property Damage per Accident: NT$2,000,000.
  • Total Insurance Coverage for the Event: NT$34,000,000.

Scope of Coverage for Public Liability Insurance:

  • If a participant causes bodily injury, death, or property damage to a third party during the event due to the following accidents, TAIPEI 101 will be responsible for compensation:
    1. Accidents that occur on the competition route specified in the insurance policy, involving the participant or their employees.
    2. Accidents involving buildings, pathways, machinery, or other facilities on the competition route.

    If a participant causes property damage, injury, or death during the event, TAIPEI 101 will assist with public liability insurance claims. However, participants cannot seek additional compensation from the event organizer, hosts, contractors, or sponsors if they have already received compensation or if the claim falls outside the coverage scope.

  • Exclusions from Coverage:
    1. Injuries caused by personal illness.
    2. Symptoms related to pre-existing health conditions or cardiovascular issues, such as shock, heart conditions, diabetes, heat exhaustion, heatstroke, altitude sickness, epilepsy, dehydration, etc.
    3. Participants with a history of any of the conditions listed above are advised to carefully assess their safety and consider purchasing personal accident insurance. Participants at high risk for sudden death due to pre-existing conditions should consult with a doctor and refrain from participating if advised against it.
